One Room Challenge: Week 4
Progress is being made in the living /dining room area that I’m making over for this round of the One Room Challenge. You can check out the previous weeks’ posts below.
The DIY projects certainly abound with this one. Here’s the short list of projects in the works:
- Pelmet boxes for dining room windows
- Linen drapes
- Radiator cover
- Pillow covers
- Built-in TV cabinet
- Artwork
- Refinish bookshelves
Not to mention I spontaneously ordered a custom chandelier for the dining room last week. Here’s the thing, though. It has about a 3-4 week lead time, so I’m crossing my fingers that it will make it here in time for the big reveal.
I’m feeling really overwhelmed with the whole project and a bit over it right now, but I’m so excited to get this space finished. Linda summed it up perfectly in her post yesterday.
It is the real burnout week, the one where you are not sure you will make it….and at the moment, don’t care….until you read all the other posts…then find the motivation to push on.
I could use all the motivation I can get right about now! Check out all the other week 4 posts here.
Amen! I am feeling so behind on our master bedroom but we can push through and encourage each other! You can do it! And we’ll be so glad we did. I’m excited to see this chandelier you ordered, lighting is such a huge part of any room, I’m sure it’s going to be fabulous!
I can’t wait to get the new chandelier up! I had no intention of replacing the current one now, but just like you said, lighting is a huge part of any room. Btw, the chandelier in your master bedroom is gorgeous!
Girl…I feel the same way but I know we can do it- just two weeks to go and your space is going to be fabulous!
You’re right Christine. Just two weeks to go – we can do it!

Thanks so much Melissa! It certainly helps to know we’re all in this together.
I cannot wait to see the finished project.. my ears are perking over the news of this glamorous chandelier!!!
Glamorous, it is! Maybe we should have a girls’ night at my house to celebrate the finished space…
week four is a real toughy but it really does help to read about everyone else’s realities to help get you through. Can’t wait to see your space, I have really enjoyed following this one!
Aww, only because I have done this so many times, I can tell you that you will be so happy if you push through. Hang in there.
Man it really is a tough week…and I’m still painting! By your diy list, it sounds like you are in great shape and I know it will look gorgeous! Good luck this week!
