Beautiful Model Home
Because taking a #selfie in the presence of a full-length mirror is law…
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to walk through an amazingly decorated model house in NY. A friend of mine is having a home built soon and needs my help with styling and decorating it. In her long journey of model home visits, this particular one stood out over all the others. It reflects her personal style well, but it also embodies the mood she wants her new house to have. In order to get in on that vision, it was only right that I tour the Toll Brothers model home, too.
The decorator here did a great job of making each room feel cozy, livable, and chic. From the moment you enter the home, the foyer provides a warm & inviting feeling. To the right was the living room, and the dining room was to the left.
The family room was certainly the star of the first floor. The 2-story length drapes added a great amount of color and texture to the space without overpowering it. Neutrals were used throughout the first floor, but the pops of color kept the spaces very interesting. And we know how much I love neutral spaces.
The study seemed to be the only place on the first floor where the designer took a risk and went for something bold. I think the black built-in bookcases were unexpected but definitely a pleasant surprise.
Moving up to the second floor, the children’s bedrooms were colorful and fun. A nursery (unpictured) with yellow-dotted walls was also among the group.
The master suite was certainly a retreat I would love to have! From the cozy bedroom, to the stylish sitting area and master bath, the finishes and decor were well chosen.
And last, but certainly not least, the conservatory was turned into a game room & lounge. The burlap drapes provided more of a relaxed atmosphere that would be a pretty cool place to hang out with friends.
Overall, the whole house was very well presented and gave the sense that living stylishly doesn’t mean everything has to be stuffy and over the top. That’s my kind of design!
