{Loving} Neutral Living

|

What’s happening to me???
I’m a total color lover when it comes to interior décor. Colorful wall colors, colorful furniture, colorful art, you name it, I love it if it involves bold colors and creative combinations. But lately, I’m really finding myself leaning more towards neutral living spaces, and I think this would work especially well for my home.

I blame these gorgeous spaces.

This is totally unlike me, but because my home doesn’t get a lot of direct sunlight, the right neutrals can really help to brighten up the space. The walls are already a light gray color (Silver Drop by Behr) and the furniture is a light taupe color so we’re well on our way. My plan is to add white/ivory drapes, bring in a lighter colored oriental rug, add a pop of color with my octagon table, and paint my built-ins (that have yet to be finished) white. The room will have a very bright, airy feel with subtle pops of color, similar to these images.

This is my FINAL plan for the living room (I think). I’ll be putting together a mood board for the space that I’ll share soon.

P.S.  The first two spaces were created by Lauren Liess, whose blog I follow.  She does neutral extremely well.  With my new-found love of neutrals, I think I have a new interior design crush!
