Photo A Day: Week 10
Two posts in one day? Whoa!
This week greeted me with a mountain of laundry that sat neglected since we were busy with birthday festivities the week before.
I’m reeeeaaaally trying to resist the urge to cut my hair again. I’m just getting bored with it, but I promised myself I’d stay strong and hold out. I supposed I could change the color to mix it up a bit, but that honestly scares me more than chopping it all off does.
I tried a kale salad for the first time this week. I have no idea why I’ve never tried one, but it was surprisingly good. I normally only used kale in fresh juice and green smoothies. I massaged the leaves with lime juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Massaging softens the greens and helps them wilt a bit since kale tends to be a little tough. I then added Fuji apple, avocado, chia seeds, and ground flax seed. It was quick, filling, and delicious.
Fresh flowers I picked up from Trader Joe’s this week. The lilies have since bloomed, and I’ve come to realize I’m not really a fan of the way they smell. I’m not sure if these are some super variety or what, but they have a bit of an odd odor to me. Whatevs….they’re still pretty to look at. By the way, I recently thrifted that vase for around $0.50. I heart it big time!
I really despise exercising after work, but I’m still trying desperately to catch up on sleep so waking up at 5am to workout is way out of the question. Still going strong with P90x, though.
This edamame from Trader Joe’s is really good and easy to whip up. I added it to quinoa along with sauteed veggies to make a sort of pilaf to accompany some tofu I made for dinner. It was a surprising hit.
Testing paint colors for an upcoming project. More details to come….
