My New Office/Studio
Remember what I wrote here about making this a more productive year? It seems I’ve been more productive at everything except blogging. It’s just that when I’m in the midst of making plans and designing, I don’t usually remember to actually document the process. I’m changing that right now! My new office/studio plans are in the works (as of 3:30am yesterday morning because that’s how I roll), and I’ll be documenting the whole process here. It all started when I began to take inventory of exactly why I don’t feel as productive as I hope to be. And that’s really because I don’t have a dedicated space of my own. Typing at the vanity in my bedroom and cutting fabric on the dining room table gets old after a while.
So now the living space on the lower level of my home (read: basement) will become my workspace. All on a budget, of course. Here’s the plan..
I need:
- A desk
- A cutting/work table
- A sewing table
- Fabric & supply storage
- Comfortable seating
It would be nice to have:
- A space for my little helper, too
- A television
- A chair for lounging
The space needs:
- Storage/Organization
- New flooring
- Paint
- Better lighting
It doesn’t sound like too much so hopefully I can knock it out over a couple of weekends.
