Around Here
So much has been going on around here. It’s a whirlwind of stuff (good, bad, & indifferent) called life. I’ll take you on a fuzzy iPhone photographic trip down memory lane. Shall we?
We have a new member of the family.
His name is Rocky, though he had a small stint as “Angel”, but that didn’t quite stick. His original owner named him Rocky, but he didn’t seem to answer to anything when we first took him in. It’s probably because he spent some time being fostered/sheltered before becoming part of our family. Rocky is a 4-year old Shih Tzu, who’s cuddly, clumsy, loving, and calm. He’s a lover of table food (which we do not give him) with a horrible habit of incessant begging that we’re trying to break. I’ve never grown up with pets, so it’s taking some getting used to. Other than that, he’s a welcome member of our family.
I’m still plugging away at painting the hallway/foyer area with Sherwin Williams Sea Salt. Nothing much to say there.
Speaking of the foyer, I’m working on restyling (…again) the entryway console. I’ve painted some clearance shades from Target to give a more glam look to the entrance, and I’m loving it so far. More on that whole makeover to come.
Next on the agenda is to tackle the stair way. (This is an old picture from when we first moved in.) After ripping up the ugly peach carpet, we were left with quite a few nicks and dings in the paint on the stair risers. Yes, we’ve been living with the stairs like this for nearly 3 years, they’re just cleaner now (hangs head in shame…). Originally, I thought I would have to sand the area down, but I’ve decided to just fill in the divots with some spackle, sand them, and paint them. That will be much easier with clean up and much easier to work around the amount of traffic this main stairway gets. After painting, I’ll move on to refinishing the stair treads – probably a dark Walnut stain. Who knows how long this will all take, but wish me luck!
The home remodeling stuff has been slow going because we’ve had birthdays, weddings, vacations, and first days of school to contend with. Pretty soon all the holiday festivities begin. Needless to say, we’re quite busy over here, but because we’re sharing it all with great friends & family, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Loving all the new things you have done to the house. Who would’ve ever thought you would have a dog, lol. I fell in love with him when we came over. Our boys are definitely related as I was shown, lol. Can’t wait for our cousin day. Wishing you all the best in your new adventures.
Hi Cousin! Thanks for the love. Our kids are definitely related. It’s a little weird how much they look alike. Talk to you soon!
