Summer 2015 Capsule Wardrobe
Following up on my last post about capsule wardrobes, I thought it would be cool to share what my Summer 2015 capsule wardrobe consists of. Inspired by a few of the sources I found online, I’ve decided to approach building my wardrobe in a seasonal manner. Essentially, I imagine the Fall & Winter wardrobes (October through March) will look really similar to each other with the exception of a few items, just like the Spring & Summer wardrobes will (April through September). Many of the items in my wardrobe are flexible, which means I carry them through multiple seasons and use them for layering. Also, since I work in an office building, I have a good combination of business and casual items, and I purposely choose items that can function well in both environments.
Here’s a look at most of what I’ll be wearing from now through the end of September. (Not all of the items listed below are pictured, nor are they listed in the order shown.)
- Distressed ankle jeans
- Taupe sleeveless blouse
- White sleeveless blouse

Obviously shoes are not included in my item count, but if I’m being honest, I really only rotate between 9 pairs of shoes for the summer months. That includes flats, sneakers, and heels.
Notes:
- Workout clothes are not included in my total count, but I have pared those down, as well. They are to only be worn for working out, not as regular clothing.
- Pajamas and lounge wear are not included here.
- I will be purging the accessories I no longer wear and will focus on repairing items that need it.
- I have a lot of perfumes. Not as many as some people I know (and you know who you are), but I have many more perfume bottles than those I regularly reach for. I plan to purge the ones I’m over and invest in the ones that will forever be staples for me.
That about sums it all up! Now that we’re a few weeks into Summer, things have actually been working out much easier than I anticipated.
What do you think? Could you ever do the capsule wardrobe thing?
