2018 Summer Home Essentials

|

It’s finally Summer! And I’m so excited because it’s my absolute favorite season for so many reasons – the weather, the sunshine, trips to the shore. What’s not to love? Today, I’m going to share with you my go-to Summer home essentials.

#1: BRINGING THE OUTDOORS IN
Sunshine & fresh air! Letting the sunshine and cool breeze in to refresh my home is always at the top of my list every single day. Whenever it isn’t too hot, letting in that freshness can purify and revitalize any space. Fresh air is key!

#2: FRAGRANCE
Good home fragrance is something that’s pretty big on my list all year. In the summer, I like to use fragrance lamps to add a gentle hint of scent to the air and to help deodorize my home. Not only do they add a nice, subtle backdrop of scent to the air, they can also purify the air, which I’m sure we all can appreciate.

#3: GREENERY
Whether it’s plants or fresh flowers, greenery always helps to brighten and enliven any space. Did you know that a single houseplant can purify 100sf of indoor air pollution?
Needless to say, I have a thing for clean air.

#4: REFRESHING DRINKS
I drink a ton of water normally and in the summer that gets bumped up tenfold. So mixing in refreshing drinks is always essential for me. Those would be things like infused waters & teas, seltzers, spritzers, etc. These help to keep your water intake up during the sweltering summer and prevent you from dehydration, which can lead to nausea, headaches, and a myriad of other unpleasant symptoms.
My favorite refreshing drink of the moment is iced cold brew. You can find my favorite recipe over on this post.

#5: OUTDOOR SPACE
I know I listed all those amazing things that I love about summer, but what’s probably at the top of the list for me are the long days. I love it when it’s still light out at 8pm, and though that doesn’t last too long here in the northeast, I certainly take advantage of it when it does. For me, that means spending the most time outdoors as possible. So my last essential focuses on making the most of your outdoor space at home with a relaxing outdoor seating area. Now, I know this one is pretty broad and some of us have more/less space than others but, no matter the size, as long as there’s a comfy spot, some shade, and a place to sit my drink down, I’m good to go. Definitely an essential for me in the warm weather.

So, what are some of your summer essentials? I’m dying to know! Also, let me know in the comments what your favorite season is and why.

See you in the next video!
